It was the PERFECT fall day at Weddings on the Farm in South Windsor CT. The farm was a stunning backdrop, and the couple chose the perfect time to get married. The ceremony was separate from the tented reception, with a large tree as the focal point where the couple stood. We really lucked out by having good weather in October.
Once again, we had another DIY queen bride. Rica’s dad made all the wooden pieces and signs throughout the venue and Rica hand painted all of them. She even somehow found time to make their own wedding cake the night before!
These two technically met in high school but reconnected afterwards. Rica and Cole only lived less than a mile away from each other growing up and didn’t even know it (aw!). Friends and family had such amazing things to say about the couple all night. Rica even had both her parents walk her down the aisle. So sweet.
Before the big day, Rica secretly emailed me saying that she would be wearing a jumpsuit and the groom had no idea! There were technically two first looks- the first one out on the farm, where Rica had her jumpsuit on, and the second one inside the house where she added the dress bottom.
Probably one of the coolest things they incorporated in their day, is they had food trucks all night! There was pizza and cupcakes. We LOVE a food truck wedding. The bride and groom even incorporated pizza into their wedding party photos at the end of the night.
In the morning, the girls got ready inside the farmhouse suite while the guys got ready elsewhere and did finishing touches inside the barn. Some of the girls were on lookout to make sure that Cole was either inside or hidden away while they were getting ready and as Rica made her way out for the first look.
